Eurex Clearing Readiness Newsflash | C7 Release 12.1: Introducing Next-Day Overcollateralization, available from 2 February 2026
Eurex Clearing AG is launching a new, optional service to provide Members with greater flexibility in their daily collateral management. The new functionality will be available as of 2 February 2026.
This enhancement allows you to proactively instruct overcollateralization for the next business day as part of the existing End-of-Day (EoD) margin process. This helps you prepare for the next day's requirements and manage your collateral more efficiently.
What is changing?
- New "Next Business Day" Run: We are adding a new, optional run to the End-of-Day process specifically for next-day overcollateralization.
- Instruct in Advance: You can instruct or maintain a specific cash amount or a percentage of your margin requirement to be set aside for the following business day.
- Leverage Existing Tools: This instruction is managed through the familiar “Overcollateralization Maintenance” window you already use.
Timeline: How it Works
- During End-of-Day Process: Use the “Overcollateralization Maintenance” window to designate funds for the "next business day" run.
- Overnight Settlement: The instructed amount is settled as part of the regular End-of-Day margin call.
- Next business day: The funds are applied as overcollateralization in your collateral pool, ready for the start of the trading day.
- Availability: From 2 February 2026, Members can instruct amounts in the new "next business day" run, effective earliest on 3 February 2026.

- Update your internal procedures as needed.
