August 2026 Figures at Eurex

  • Overall volumes in listed derivatives saw a 14 percent growth in August 2026.
  • OTC Clearing showed strong performance, as overnight index swaps surged 71 percent.
  • Eurex Repo maintained solid momentum, up 30 percent in August driven by a 19 percent rise in GC Pooling.

Eurex – Europe’s leading derivatives exchange – and, together with Eurex Clearing, one of the world’s leading central counterparties, posted a 14 percent rise in derivatives trading volume, reaching 144.4 million contracts in August 2026. Equity derivatives delivered strong growth, with volume climbing 41 percent from 17.6 million contracts in August 2025 to 24.8 million contracts in August 2026. Index derivatives trading volume fell 11 percent, from 41.6 million to 36.9 million contracts, while interest rate derivatives volume increased 23 percent, rising to 82.8 million contracts from 67.2 million contracts over the same period a year earlier.

OTC Clearing recorded strong growth in August 2026, as notional outstanding volumes climbed 25 percent year on year to EUR 56,187 billion up from EUR 45,049 billion in August 2025. Growth was driven largely by the swaps product group, led by overnight index swaps, which jumped 71 percent year on year to EUR 10,046 billion. Interest rate swaps also made a notable contribution, rising 22 percent to EUR 23,734 billion.

Eurex Repo, Eurex’s leading electronic marketplace for secured funding and financing, sustained its strong momentum in August. Average term-adjusted volumes rose 24 percent to EUR 470.6 billion, driven by the GC Pooling segment, which grew 19 percent to EUR 260.1 billion, as well as by the Repo segment, which posted 30 percent growth in August 2026.
